This June, Brixton House marks Windrush 26 with a vibrant programme celebrating the legacy, creativity and cultural impact of the Windrush generation and their descendants.
Highlights include a rehearsed reading of Derek Walcott’s acclaimed play Pantomime, directed by Emily Aboud, and The Really Irish? House Party, a lively celebration of Irish music, dance and storytelling that reflects on Ireland’s rich cultural connections and shared histories with diasporic communities.
The programme also features Bringing the Vibez, an evening of music and connection; Saturday Soup, where food, storytelling and community come together around the table; and Come Mek We Larf, a comedy special showcasing some of the sharpest voices on the circuit.
Visitors can also explore The Futurists, an exhibition curated by Danny Bailey in collaboration with Brixton House’s Good Neighbours group, celebrating the lives, memories and cultural contributions of African and Caribbean elders while honouring the enduring legacy of the Windrush generation.
