LAGOS, NIGERIA / LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — June 2026 — Bolanle

Austen-Peters Productions (BAP Productions), one of Africa’s leading theatre and film production companies, in partnership with Heavy Wind Media UK,  is proud to announce the London debut of its acclaimed stage production, Dear Kaffy: Diary of a Single Woman, at the prestigious Shaw Theatre, London, from 7–9 August 2026.

Following its successful run in Lagos and South Africa Dear Kaffy arrives in the United Kingdom for a limited three-day engagement, bringing an authentic, witty, and emotionally compelling Nigerian story to international audiences.

The production will be staged at the Shaw Theatre, 100–110 Euston Road, London NW1 2AJ, with performances daily at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM

A Story That Speaks Across Continents

At the heart of the play is Kikelomo Olota (Kike), a successful 35-year-old woman navigating the complexities of love, family expectations, self-discovery, and societal pressure in contemporary Lagos. As Kike journeys through a series of relationships, she finds herself caught between the expectations of others and the life she truly desires. Through moments of humour, heartbreak, music, and reflection, Dear Kaffy explores universal themes of identity, womanhood, love, and authenticity.

While deeply rooted in Nigerian culture, the story resonates with audiences everywhere, particularly among the African diaspora, offering a powerful reflection on the challenges many women face in balancing personal ambition, cultural expectations, and the pursuit of happiness.

Celebrating African Stories on the Global Stage

Presented by BAP Productions, the creative powerhouse founded by acclaimed producer and director Bolanle Austen-Peters, Dear Kaffy continues the company’s mission of taking world-class African storytelling to global audiences.

Over the past decade, BAP Productions has transformed Nigeria’s theatrical landscape through groundbreaking productions including Saro the Musical, Wakaa! The Musical, Fela and the Kalakuta Queens, Motherland The Musical, Death and the King’s Horseman, and numerous other critically acclaimed stage and screen works.

The London presentation of Dear Kaffy marks another milestone in the company’s growing international footprint and its commitment to showcasing contemporary African narratives on some of the world’s most respected stages.

Quote from Bolanle Austen-Peters “We are delighted to bring Dear Kaffy to London. This is a story about self-worth, resilience, and finding the courage to define your own path. While Kike’s story is rooted in Lagos, her experiences are universal. We look forward to sharing this production with audiences in the UK and celebrating the richness of African storytelling on a global stage.”
