The inaugural Fierce Friday opened Breakin’ Convention’s 21st annual bank holiday weekend celebration of international hip hop dance theatre.

Sadler’s Wells in Angel is transformed into a space of dirty beats, graffiti, B-Boys and B-Girls, hip hop heads of all ages, races, and community love. Bringing immaculate vibes to the occasion, Fee Mak hosted the main stage as WeGrowTogether (UK) opened the festival with a poignant and high-energy performance, followed by a breathtaking solo piece by fellow Brummie Jamaal O’Driscoll and O’Driscoll Collective (UK), who blessed us with a moving and, powerful jazzy creation.

Currently, the most successful b-boy crew in the world, The Ruggeds (Netherlands) returned to Breakin’ Convention to celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a brand-new show, including a brilliant composition to the sound of General Levy’s, banger, INCREDIBLE.

For the second half, we welcomed whacking icon and model Mounia Nassangar (France), with their latest incredible work STUCK, the ensemble of five had our eyes glued to the stage and our heads nodding in appreciation as they took us to church.

And, finally, legendary DJ’s Rampage Sound closed the night giving the audience a chance to show off their own dance moves. This was a truly epic opening for Breakin’ Convention and let’s hope Fierce Friday is here to stay! The festival continues through to Monday. Last few tickets available.
