Journey to a world of endless possibilities this festive season as Pinocchio comes to life in the iconic Globe Theatre for the premiere of a magical, unmissable new musical for the whole family by Charlie Josephine and Jim Fortune.

Dreaming of a life beyond the confines of his traditional town, restless maverick Gepetto carves a wooden puppet and calls him Pinocchio. Together, they embark on a series of adventures with a host of weird and wonderful characters as they teach each other how to love and build a community of their own.

In the embrace of the wooden ‘O’ of the Globe Theatre, itself lovingly carved from a thousand oak trees, experience this unforgettable story of self-discovery, freedom and family, and share in the wonder of what it means to be human.

A surprising, funny and heartfelt new musical for ages 5+ with book and lyrics by Charlie Josephine (I, Joan, Globe; Cowbois, RSC/ Royal Court), and music and lyrics by Jim Fortune (Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear, Hex, National). Globe Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes (Romeo and JulietThe Merry Wives of Windsor, Globe) directs.

The cast comprises Lee Braithwaite (The Other Place, National Theatre) as Pinocchio , Michael Elcock (Romeo and Juliet, The Comedy of Errors, Globe) as Carpenter / Rabbit Prince Charming, Kerry Frampton (Rough MagicMidsummer Mechanicals, Globe) as Fox, Ed Gaughan (A Winter’s Tale, Globe) as Stromboli, Nick Holder (London Road, National Theatre) as Geppetto, Lucy McCormick (Troilus and CressidaTitus Andronicus, Globe) as Blue Fairy / Cat, and Steven Webb (Book of Mormon, West End) as Jiminy Cricket / Coachman.
