Black Power in 1960s Britain: what can we learn?
With president elect Barack Obama's sweep to power, all attention is on a black British leader being able to achieve the same success. The lives of African American activists such as Malcolm X, Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks and many more, who laid the path for Obama's success, have been well documented. But how much do we know about the work of black British activists and how can we draw on and develop from their experience to nurture the way for a black British leader?
