Any Which Way

Any Which Way is a timely and powerful new play about knife crime, commissioned by the charity Only Connect. Two schoolboy friends divided by murder: Any Which Way is a life-changing play about knife crime and its consequences. The play is written by David Watson, based on the true stories of ex-offenders, and performed by cast of ex-offenders and professional actors. The production will also mark the launch of Only Connect's new venue - the Only Connect Theatre, WC1.

The cast includes Alicya Eyo (Denny Blood in ITV's Bad Girls), Clare Perkins (Beverley in Bullet Boy) alongside former inmates of HMP Wormwood Scrubs and Pentonville. Any Which Way is directed by Maggie Norris (Bad Girls: The Musical), and Emma Kruger (Artistic Director, Only Connect) with video design by Mic Pool, lighting design by Kristina Hjelm, composer and sound design by Kath Gotts and fight direction by Kate Waters.

Founded by Danny and Emma Kruger in 2006, the creative arts charity Only Connect commissioned Any Which Way in order to tackle head-on the issues behind the rising tide of knife crime among Britain's youth. In summer 2008, Any Which Way was performed to 3,600 students at schools in Camden, Westminster, Haringey and Islington. Such was the extraordinary impact and response that Only Connect will now bring Any Which Way to the Only Connect Theatre with predominantly the same ex-offenders cast joined by Alicya Eyo and Clare Perkins.   It will be performed over four weeks as a multi-media promenade production with video and sound.
