Aladdin

AladdinA magic carpet ride of a panto, as Aladdin, a poor boy from the mystical East (and no, we don't mean Barking), battles with the evil Abanazar to thwart his plot to rule the world. Will the help of the Genie of the Lamp's mighty fine powers and some wise words of advice from his mum, Ma Twanky (plus some well-meaning interference from a whole host of friends), be enough for Aladdin to overcome this wicked if somewhat deranged foe and win the heart of the beautiful Princess?

The magic of Aladdin is conjured up by the same creative team behind Cinderella (2007) – the only pantomime production ever to have been nominated for an Olivier Award – which together with the writing team, includes director Kerry Michael and designer, Jenny Tiramani. New writing, new songs and a hugely talented cast will present a pantomime with all the usual ingredients including a magical flying carpet courtesy of top illusionist Paul Kieve.

Aladdin is at the Theatre Royal Stratford East from 28 November 2009 to 16 January, 2010.

Address: Theatre Royal Stratford East, Gerry Raffles Square, London E15 1BN
