Stone Built Productions presents in conjunction with Nu Beginnings Enterprises: When Nobody’s Looking
“What goes on behind the windows of your home and your soul?” Is it easier to just smile at your neighbour rather than saying hello? “When Nobody’s Looking” is a musical theatre production, inspired by songs from the self-entitled album of gospel artists ‘Mary Mary’.
Focusing on a downtown, New York apartment block, a fire in the building brings the residents outside of their home’s and eventually, their comfort zones. Mary, a woman of faith, struggling with being single for years, comes to the realisation that she still has a purpose during the wait for her future love. Encountering neighbours she always sees yet never speaks to, in a way that brings her light into their lives without her even realising it.
But this light, reveals a darkness that each neighbour has to confront; some coming so close to the truth that they almost touch the one thing that could heal the pain, they’ve been carrying their whole lives.
In the end, there is only One Who can fill their empty void; only One Who can heal and only One Who can turn darkness into light. The One they all need and seek to find.
In the end, there is only One Who can fill their empty void.
Cast includes Justin Donaldson and production includes LaKesha Cunningham.
