The Monks present: ‘Hallelujah House’
Black, white, saints, sinners, do-gooders, gossips, hypocrites, cheats, liars and some Christians. What do they all have in common? Church. Welcome to Hallelujah House, a modern, bustling Charismatic church in London. This new comedy play focuses on life behind the scenes at this place of worship.
As Hallelujah House prepares for a huge conference to mark its tenth anniversary, scandal hits. This plunges staff into a frenzy wherein motives and morals are questioned, relationships are tested and yet two grown men still find time to perform an embarrassing Christian rap.
This funny and poignant look at 21st Century Christianity (complete with all its glitz, glamour and corny phrases) comes from the team behind Christian comedy sketch group Four Monks And A Nun, who proved to be Camden Fringe favourites. The Londonist said of their last Camden Fringe show ‘The Ten Commandments’ “(Four Monks And A Nun) had the audience hooting…sharp, expertly delivered and hilarious”.
Hallelujah House is written by Yazz Fetto who has written for both TV and radio with credits including the BBCs ‘Dead Ringers’ and various development deals for self penned sitcoms.
