The Go! Go! Go! Show, Leicester Square Theatre
Directed by Carole Todd (Dreamboats and Petticoats), choreographed by Paul Domaine (The
Saturdays, Sugababes, Dannii Minogue), original story by Dean Wilkinson (Cbeebies, CBBC,
Ant and Dec) and with music by Mike Stock (one third of the legendary Stock, Aitken and Waterman) and Steve Crosby (who masterminded Steps), this was an all singing and dancing extravaganza.
The bright and energetic cast of Holly, Carl, Gemma, Steve and Kirsten, along with the bumbling Mr Baffled, had the children engrossed with catchy songs and dance routines reminiscent of S Club 7. The children were taught a simple dance routine that mine, aged 7 and 4, were still doing hours later.
The story started with the mystery of missing socks, and the culprit was found to be that of a sock guzzling fluffalope. Seeking out the fluffalope required plenty of pantomime style audience participation, including the frenzied throwing of socks that we had been provided with, and the journey began to return their friendly, furry friend to sock mountain. My children loved it when the cast came into the audience during the show and it was a special touch that they were in the foyer after the show for autographs and photographs. A bright and fresh show to be enjoyed by all children this summer.
Address: The Go! Go! Go! Show is at The Leicester Square theatre until 30 August 2010.
