Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song

The writer, director and star of Sweetback's Baadasssss Song, Melvin Van Peebles has started work on the musical theatre adaptation of the acclaimed 1971 film.

In the same year, Van Peebles, also staged “Ain’t Supposed to Die a Natural Death,” on Broadway. Sweetback, the musical, is to open the Sons d’Hiver Festival in Paris, this month.
