Wednesday, March 25, 2009

The Royal Court has been teaching playwriting to young people for over 30 years. They are experts in supporting young people to use theatre for exploring their world and the things which really matter to them. Unheard Voices is a playwriting project for young Muslim writers aged 18 – 25yrs; it follows on from the success of the initial pilot course in 2008 where two young Muslim writers had their plays showcased at the Royal Court Theatre.

The course is free and runs for 11 weeks staring in May 2009 and will be led by professional playwrights to help develop and nurture the next generation of young Muslim writers.

No previous playwriting experience is needed but to apply for the course we will need a maximum of 10 pages of writing intended for the stage. Deadline for applications: Friday 17 April 2009. For guideline and submission forms please visit www.royalcourttheatre.com
