Black production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof looking for diverse team
The producers of the Tennessee Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof are bringing a black production of it from Broadway to the West End this autumn. In June, they will start searching for creative production staff for the West End run and they are very keen to ensure that black British talent get a fair shot at some of those job openings.
Debbie Allen (Fame, A Different World) is directing the play. James Earl Jones and Phylicia Rashad (Cosby Show)--and possibly Adrian
Lester--are a few of the lead actors in the play. The show is going to be big. The producers are black Americans who brought CAT to
Broadway with Terrance Howard and Anika Noni Rose last year.
Some of the jobs include, set design and construction, lighting, wardrobe, hair and makeup stylists, etc. All interested parties should look at the Stage UK magazine article for contact details for Treagus Stoneman, which is the General Management company handling employment: info@treagusstoneman.com.
