Northern Uganda. When Okumu’s village is attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army
(LRA), he and his brother’s lives are changed forever.

Far Gone is a profoundly moving story of a young boy’s journey from childhood
innocence to child soldier. Seen through the eyes of those that love him and those that
betray him, Okumu’s experience strikes straight at the heart through a powerful one-
man performance by John Rwothomack, Directed by Moji Elufowoju.

John Rwothomack is a Ugandan born, London trained, Sheffield based actor and director. John trained as an actor at Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts. After graduating in 2015, he worked as an actor in London before moving back to Sheffield where he directed Paul Sirett’s Bad Blood Blues at Theatre Deli.  He has performed in: H&P, ON MISSING, (The Cockpit Theatre), Dr Bupe, TALES FROM THE PLAYGROUND, (Paper Finch Theatre), Priest, THE DEVIL IN MARY (short film), Witch Doctor, THE EMPEROR JONES, (The Lost Theatre), John Blanke, THE LOW ROAD, (Stratford Circus).  Far Gone is the first one-man show he has written, created and performed in.
